1. Orchard Hills Trail

Located on Irvine Ranch , Orchard Hills skirts the edge of a working avocado orchard. It hosts a double loop, allowing you to choose your level of difficulty. 

The three-mile outer loop is relatively strenuous, but the reward is large, featuring a breathtaking view of most of Irvine, Catalina, San Clemente, and even the Hollywood sign! 

Consisting of a gently sloping 1.2 miles, the inner loop is perfect for families or beginners. It has enough elevation for great views of Irvine and the coast without being too difficult of a workout.

2. Peters Canyon Trail

Peters Canyon Trail is a beautiful path that closely follows Peters Canyon Wash, a tributary of San Diego Creek. The trail is landscaped, making it perfect for walking, skating, or biking. Additionally, the extensive lighting allows for use at any time of day, dark or light. The trail runs northeast from Bill Barber Community Park to Portola Parkway and connects to several other paths as well.

3. Turtle Rock Trail

Lasting 2.8 miles, Turtle Rock Trail is known for being short yet vigorous. The steep trail climbs to the top of Ridgeline Drive, where you can enjoy a beautiful lookout point. Additionally, the trail features beautiful landscaping. It’s the perfect place to get a strong workout while enjoying the breathtaking views of California.

4. Quail Hill Trail

  What makes Qual Hill Trail unique is its self-guided audio tour. Simply dial the number on your cell phone or tune in to the podcast to hear natural resource interpreters and researchers explain interesting features along the trail.

Passing along the foot of Quail Hill, the trail is a two-mile surface hike open to anyone looking for a nice nature stroll. Leashed dogs are welcome on this trail.

5. Tustin Branch Trail

Tustin Branch Trail is a beautiful 4.3-mile hike located near Tustin, CA. With very little elevation and lots of shade, this trail is perfect for anyone looking for a nice stroll with their dog. It is a popular trail for birding, hiking, and running. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful in any season.
