About Bird & Barrel

Founded by Bunsomit Sonny Nhoung, Bird & Barrel is a family-run establishment that specializes in poultry and focuses on serving the local community. Their unique take on Asian-fusion cuisine brings an interesting combination of flavors that they wish to share with the Santa Ana community.

At Bird & Barrel, the friendly and relaxed atmosphere will immediately put you in a good mood. “It’s inviting and casual with good tunes,” says Nhoung. “I want people to feel welcomed to come to my home. . . . We’re here just trying to cook good food, have a few laughs while listening to good music, and make people feel that happy days are ahead.”

Bird & Barrel is open Tuesday through Sunday, with hours that vary depending on the day of the week. They are also popular for their drinks, with happy hour going from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day.

What to Eat

The Bird & Barrel menu has a variety of options, including rice dishes, stir-fried noodles, sandwiches, tenders, wings, and salads. As you might guess by their name, poultry isn’t limited to just chicken; they also serve duck in many of their dishes! Plus, you can find beef, seafood, or vegetarian options as well. And for those on a gluten-free diet, most of the menu can accommodate you.
